Burning Questions: Has George Lucas Pushed His Luck Too Far?

Michael C. here to pose a question I am very curious to have answered this coming February 10th.

I do not want to talk about Star Wars anymore. Honestly, I don’t.

I especially do not wish to discuss the quality, or lack thereof, of the prequels. What would be the point? Their awfulness has been exhaustingly detailed and now qualifies as unimpeachable fact. Furthermore, George Lucas has demonstrated he will never express one iota of remorse for the jaw-dropping destruction of his legacy that unfolded from 1999 thru 2005. As recently as last year I spotted him on The Daily Show proclaiming that, gosh darn it, people just cannot get enough that scamp Jar Jar Binks, oh how the fans love his goofy, vaguely racist antics.

So with the artistic failure of Phantom Menace fading into cinematic infamy alongside The Godfather Part III, and with George Lucas sealed up at Skywalker Ranch safe inside his bubble of denial and sycophants, things appear to be at a stalemate, leaving moviegoers to wonder: Will George Lucas ever get his comeuppance? You know, that moment where he stands in judgment like Paul Scofield in A Man For All Seasons and is forced to acknowledge the awesome scale of his cinematic crimes.
